Happy New Year!

Met up with the gang for dinner. It's supposed to be a belated bday celebration for Ben and I.

Since I was too lazy to take a long ass bus ride to East Coast, my sis and I caught a cab. Which was fortunate as it started to rain the moment we got onto the cab. Thankfully the rain stopped when we reached there.

Yvonne was the one that recommended this place, Beach Cabana, at East Coast to have dinner. She said that she has been there a few times and it was not bad. I didn't know where exactly the place was and we got a little lost. I got a little frustrated trying to find it and KL finally took pity on me, had me wait at Coffee Bean and then came over to save me :)

By the time I got there, it seems like more than half the beer was gone! Haha ... that is what u get when u put guys together.

Don't worry, I got my share of booze. The food was really yummy too. For some reason I was pretty hungry and ate quite a bit of my sis's ribs.

I got a platter which included prawns, lamb and chicken. All meats are grilled on charcoal and I just love the taste of charcoal grilled food.

The gals.

Kelvin wanted to join us for a shot too.

Group pic!

Would definitely head back there again and best of all, the place is open 24hrs! I just wish it was more accessible to one who has to rely on public transport.

After dinner, we headed to McD for dessert and coffee. We started reminiscing about SI days and our Kelvin seems to have a photographic memory! He could remember so many details, even down to what the person was wearing on that day.

Me? I was one of the ones with the blank look, giving the "Did that happen?" gaze. I wonder how someone is able to retain so much info whereas I can't seem to remember anything. My SI days were not that bad that I had to block stuff out, was it?

It was a great way to start off the new year and hopefully there will be many more to come!

Xmas @ Christine and August's

We had our annual Christmas get together @ Christine and Aug's. I always look forward to our xmas gathering.

Yummy food ... I of cos made my spinach dip again :)

A party's not a party w/o some bubbly!

As usual, there was a gift exchange and this year was a year of cups/mug/bottles .... contraptions that hold liquids!

Well, can't really blame ppl as what can u really get with a budget of $10-$20?

Look at how giddily happy Aug was at his box of chocolate! Haha ... it soon ended up in MY hands!

I got the best present of that nite ... $40 voucher @ Taka! LOL ... wasn't the budget $10-$20? I ain't complaining ... no way :P

We played some games after the opening of presents, one of which was to help clear the leftovers :) Haha .. it is one of the games that is fun but also one I dread at the same time. I hate losing as that mean that I would have to eat ... argh!

We also took out Taboo to play and I have to say I suck at it ... I keep saying "Er, er, er ...." Our team lost pretty badly :P

Looking forward to the next Xmas and this time we have BANNED cup/mugs/"anything u drink out of". We were talking about it being a gift recycling year! Haha .... that is when u bring a gift that u were given that doesn't suit u or u don't like and regift it. The fun part is sometimes the gifts are really crappy and the goal of the game is to go home with the least crappy gift :D

Can't wait!

Beer, Buds, Brewerkz

Have not met up with my friend in a pretty long time, so we decided to meet for an afternoon beer at Brewerkz! Haha, its great to have found someone who loves LTS and beer ... it just seems an unlikely combination :P

We chose Brewerkz as it was a convenient location for all of us and beer is cheap from 12-3pm (I think) The prices slowly increases as the nite draws near ... so my advice is go early ;)

We had their yummy fries again and this time we ordered wings. Their wings are not bad.

On top of that, I got a present from Jacq! Hehe .. another mug to add to my collection.

We didn't stay long as we had my mom's NC's BBQ to go to. Can't wait to go back there again ... hmm, I have another beer bud that is going to be back in SGP after a vacation (I think) in Aust. Maybe then ;)

Thanks for my mug Jacq! ^^

Hope they next time we meet it wouldn't be after so long :)

Mini Reunion!

It started out as a small gathering for the new moms to bring their babies out but it soon turned to be a pretty big gathering of classmates.

We had even gotten in touch with our form teacher (I googled, HY emailed and Ben called) and she was supposed to show up. Unfortunately she was sick and had TWO days MC!! Haha, we were all joking around saying how she "keng" MC cos she did not want to come at the last min.

Miss Lim! We want a copy of yr MC!!

Anyway, the gathering still went on as planned ... thanks to our ever reliable PR/Planner/Accountant HY ;) She was the one that chose the place, made reservations, text ppl and even set up an event page in FB!! What would we do without her??

It was a Hi Tea buffet @ Swissotel Merchant Court. There was a credit card promo which was 1 free for every 3 paying customers.

They had a pretty good selection of food. This is only some of what we ate. I was too busy talking to worry about food pics :P

The gals :)

The guys :)

TJ and I

Group pic! Minus Kelvin and Chye Huat. They were gone b4 we could stop them ... were we really that boring? O.o

All the parents left after the meal and it was once again 我们 for round 2!

We headed to the new mall, ION @ Orchard. It was really a big mall with lots of high end boutiques. We walked for a bit but soon, HY, Sha, Evon, Ben and KL had a show to catch. I had wanted to watch it too but bcos my sis had already watched it and I didn't want to leave her alone, I stayed with her instead.

I shopped a little with my sis while waiting for the rest to be done with their movie and then it was yet another meetup after that ;)

My sis had bought "wife biscuits" from HK by the request of Ben and HY so we went to a nearby McDonald's for a light snack and have our dessert.

By the time we got home it was pretty late. I had a great time though! If u asked me 10 years ago would I think I would be as close to these group of friends as I am now, I think my answer would prob have been no.

It was nice to meet up with classmates, we looked thru the yearbook and many of us have changed. I wonder when our next meetup will be .... who will show up? More? Less? Will we ever see our form teacher again??

Hmmm .....

Happy 1 Mth to Alyssa!

We were invited to Christine and August's place on Sat to celebrate their newborn daughter, Alyssa's 1 mth bday.

My sis and I reached at about 1.20pm and was surprised to see that we were the first ones to show up out of our group. We were expecting the Godma to be one of the first to arrive but she had a little mishap ;)

But not to worry, the SI crowd started to trickle in and soon it was like a mini sch gathering!

Adela has grown so big! She finally let me carry her :)

The happy Godma. From the look of her smile, the SGD$80 EXTRA she had to spend today was all worth it.

Little Alyssa.

Left to right from the back - Evon, Sharolyn, Me, Jennie, her hubby, Kelvin, Shanice, Eric, Huiyi, Sharon (with her 2 boys), Christine with Adela, August and KL.

Adela looks so cheeky here ;)

We stayed pretty long at Christine and Aug and then it was to our next stop! TJ's! She lives all the way at Chua Chu Kang but luckily there is a straight train from AMK to CCK. By the time we got there, it was already 7+pm.

Here's Joyice.

Of the 3 moms, I think TJ has lost the most weight since birth and looks great!

*** Oops, will be posting a pic of TJ's collection of giraffes here ***

After the visit at TJ's we made our way to the airport to welcome Ben. He was back for a nite as he has to go to India the next day. Our 我们 group has not had a chance for a group shot in so long as Shanice was in US and Ben in China.

Finally, 我们 back together again. With new member, my Sis. She is still on probation though ... haha. There is talk of her setting up 他们.

We stayed at the airport chatting until about 2+am before we all headed home.

It was a great day of meeting up with old friends. Its both happy and sad to see many of them with families and kids, whereas I'm .....

Rachel's 1 mth celebration

We were invited to Elsie and GX's home to celebrate their daughter's 1mth bday.

Rachel sleeping peacefully :)

We ended up in the stair cos there was too many ppl and no seats ... haha, but it was very cooling there, so we didn't mind.

It was a Pooh bear theme party.

These cookies look so adorable!

What a great day to be able to see a rainbow.

Group pic with Rachel and the proud parents :)

Huiyi and KL had to leave early but the rest of gals stayed behind till pretty late at nite. We then made our way down to AMK Mc where we continued our yapping.. haha.

HKO Meetup :)

Since the article I did a few weeks back, we have been try to arrange a meetup with Jenn. We finally met up on Sat and it was a pretty fun gathering :)

Kenny, Isabelle, Daphne Sharolyn, me and Jenn!

Hahaha .. hopefully I won't get scolded for posting this here :)

We talked about the game, what we love and what we hated. Isabelle had to leave as she had another appointment. The rest of us headed down to Suntec as Jenn wanted to check out the AGX that was held there.

Haha, u see the auntie trying to play the game? It was quite funny :)

We did not stay long at the AGX and Jenn had to leave as she had a dinner appointment. We were already talking about meeting up again and she was talking about plans for a Sanrio car convoy ... anyone knows anyone with a Sanrio themed car that might be interested in joining? Contact me! Hahaha

My sis and I left Suntec and headed down to Paramount Hotel to meet with my parents, bro and Ash for dinner.

It was a steamboat buffet @ Tung Lok. Bloody expensive @ about SGD40 after taxes. I think I enjoyed Tianfu a lot more.

They do have scallop as one of their dishes. One side was an Herbal soup, the other Satay. Herbal was not bad but the Satay @ Tianfu is so much better!

With salmon sashimi and this ginormous prawn balls made with chunky prawns.

The service was so so .. we had ordered some items a few times but was never delivered and we had to constantly remind them. But there was this very ON auntie who made sure our plates were changed regularly and water refilled.

Hehe, look what I got :)

Its a mini USD 1GB Thumbdrive!

Very small ... I love it! Thanks ;)

Welcome Alyssa Koh!

June was really a mth for babies! Christine and TY welcomed their 2nd daughter Alyssa on 30 June.

This time around, I took a cab from work. I did not want to have to deal with the bus and/mrt and risk getting there late.

I think she is the heaviest bb of the 3 :)

The proud daddy.

So cute ....

The happy Godma.

Unfortunately throughout the whole time I was there, I was busy working :( Managed to find a little free time to take a few pics b4 I was banished to the couch .. busy on my phone.

SIGH

We left pretty late and by the time I got home, it was 11+pm.

Congrats to the happy parents and Godma :D

Shanice is back!

Shanice is back from the US and on Sat, Evon, Huiyi and I met up with her. I have not seen her in ages, unlike Evon and HY who saw her when they were in Las Vegas.

We had You Tiao or "Fried Dough Sticks" at the little corner shop at Novena Square

We were there for a pretty long time gossiping ... esp over this certain newspaper article ... haha :P

After our tea break, we headed down to Jalan Kayu.

We ate had Wonton Mee with wings and fried dumplings. The wings were really yummy and it brought back pri sch days memories.

We decided to head to the Xin Wang across from my hse for our third stop but when we got there, the place was PACKED! Since Shanice had a craving for McDonald's fries (hahaha, she comes back from USA and wants to eat McDonald's fries?!?!) we headed to the nearby Macs.

A little coffee art to brighten someone's day ;)

We had plans to go back to Xing Wang but after sitting for so long at Macs, we got too comfy and so we stayed there the rest of the nite.

Welcome Zuo Yibing 左怡冰

Tingjia and Zuo Wei welcomed their healthy 3105gm baby girl on 16 Jun. It was a pretty long labor for TJ but both mother and daughter are now doing fine.

Huiyi and I went down to visit them @ Mount Elizabeth. Shanice was supposed to go too but had a headache so did not. We got there about 7.45pm and stayed till past 9pm. No one came by to chase us away :P

Anyone want to buy 4D? Hahaha.

She was sound asleep for a few moments.

Opening her eyes to peep .... who are u? what do u want? why are u taking pics of me? WWWAAAAHHHHH! Ok, I'm done ... nite :)

Well, actually she wasn't. She started crying as she was hungry and so TJ had to feed her. TJ is doing complete breastfeeding which can be real frustrating the first few days when the milk hasn't fully started.

2 babies, one more to go ... my prediction is 22nd June. Hahaha, lets see how accurate I am, if it is really that day, EVERYONE needs to go buy TOTO, ok?
