Menicure & Pedicure!

Met up with LC for a spa manicure and spa pedicure. She found this really great deal for 2 ppl and so she asked me along. Haha, and also because I was the only one that was free at 4pm ... her other non loser friends have to work.

---

Here I am recieving my manicure .... she is applying a mask on my hand.

---

The color that I chose .. I tend to veer toward the reds and pinks. I wanted to do a French but unfortunately I have a pretty big bruise on my big toe that would not be hidden under a French. Well, there is always a next time :)

---

This was what LC chose, a shimmering silver/lilac color.
---

After our little indulgence, we headed to Chinatown where LC had to pick up a dress that she is going to wear on Sun. The guys that work there are a really nice friendly group ... most likely gay, but hey, they are designers, what do u expect? :) LC is already planning my wedding, telling me that I have to book my dresses at that shop, Ted Collection, now. They do really great beading, their workmanship is meticulous and every dress is unique.

I wouldn't mind having a few dresses made there but I don't think I want to have a wedding unless we can afford it. I would rather spend the money on a down payment on a hse/car. Maybe all the weddings I have done have numb me towards them.

But wtf ... I don't even have a f&*king bf .... it's too soon to talk/think about it!

On Sat, my sis and I went over to my bro's to hse sit as he had a delivery coming but was going over to JB for some shopping. We headed there at about 9.30am and just hung around playing his 360. Later, we headed to our cousin's place for a bbq (or my friends in the US would call it grilling) ... it was out nephew's 4th birthday.

It was really fun, I have not been to one of their famous bbq that I have heard so much about. There was tons of food and I ate till I was almost bursting ... well, actually, maybe the alcohol was actually filling me up :)

I was the bartender for Lin Wei and it was my job to keep his cup filled as he was busy tending the bbq. As of course as I was filling his cup, I made sure that mine was also filled. Between the 2 of us, I think that we finished more than half of a fifth of Absolut Vodka. Later, we headed upstairs where we finished about a 1/4 of Southern Comfort left and, according to my sis, drank a bit more of Jose with Coke (yuck).

But of cos, I don't remember much after the SoCo .... I remember Lin Wei, my bro and I giving my sis the whole "drink as much as u want but make sure that next day u are ready to work/study" bullshit and the next thing I knew, I found myself in my own bed ....

However, surprise, surprise, after interrogating my sis the next day.. I found out that I did not have to be carried to bed, that I actually walked myself to the car (my cousin-in-law drove) and then to my front door, up the stairs and to my bed ..... I have to say I was quite proud of myself and glad that I did not embaressed myself in front of my cousins and my aunt.

But the hangover I had on Sun made me regret drinking that much .. but at least I did not puke ... haha

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends in the US!
Eat more turkey for me :)

Sometimes my dad makes me feel like I am a five year old kid all over again, someone that does not know anything, someone that is stupid. It's just that he feels that he says/does is always in the right and everyone else is wrong.

There are times that I know that I am right but after my father disagrees, I can't help but doubt myself. He has a confident way of talking/arguing that makes u believe in that he says.

Example 1

My mom just bought fabric softener and told my dad that he would have to add in the softener during the rinse cycle. I said there is no need, there is a softener dispenser in the washing machine. He said where is there one ... and I had to show it to him and he still questioned it and I had to explain to him how I have used it b4 in other washing machines.

All the time, I was afraid that he was going to argue with me and tell me that that was for something else and that I was wrong, even though I was sure that that was what the container is for ....

Example 2

My dad insists that u CANNOT gain weight by eating fruits. He says that u can eat as much as u want and since it is 90% water, u will not gain weight.

I'm sorry, but there are calories in fruits. If u eat more calories than u burn, u will gain weight. I know it will take ALOT of fruits to gain weight but it can happen. Especially if u eat tons of fruits after a heavy meal.

He proceeded to hand me a book that is 20 years old and told me to read it, saying that it says that u can eat all the fruits that u want. I went to the part and it says that u can eat all the fruits that u want and your diet should consist of 70% fruits and veggies.

Umm, how can it be that u can eat "all u want" but only 70%?

Read this article I found online.

Example 3

We were talking about thanksgiving and my dad asked whether we knew who celebrated the first Thanksgiving. He said it was the American Indians ..... I was like "huh? No, it's the Pilgrims" He then asked who are the pilgrims....

After searching online ... I found out that the First Thanksgiving (meaning what the American celebrate now) were celebrated by the Pilgrims and Indians.

If u want to talk about who started giving thanks in general ... then it dates back to the egyptians and romans, even the the chinese celebrate some sort of thanksgiving.

The point is that as the words left my lips, I started to doubt myself and wonder if I was really wrong when my dad started to question me.

Example 4

My dad says that the aircon should be set at a temp that u are comfortable at. It also conserves energy when the temp is set a degree higher. If u need to be covered in blankets, it is too cold.

Well, I like sleeping with the blankets. It is more of a cocoon, a protection than anything else. Without it, I feel exposed. He said that the only reason that their rooms temp is so cold is because my mom insist upon it.

Well, there was one night when my mom was out and when i went into the their room, I found my dad was huddled under the blankets. When I mentioned this to him, he brought up my mom again. However, I said, since she is out, what is the trouble of increasing the temp and then lowering it when she returns? He had nothing to say and promptly changes the subject ....

I guess I will never win with my dad ... sigh

Cleaned my room ....

After being gone for so long, my dad turned my room into another storeroom (god knows that the whole house is a storeroom) Well, I guess when your daughter decides not to come home for 4 years, it was just too tempting for him to resist.
Anyway, this was what my room looked like when I came back in Sept.

---

My bed is under all the crap ....

---

My desk, hidden behind more stuff .....

---

More stuff .... I wanted to cry when I saw how my room has become

---

When I first came back, I slept in my bro's room. He has long moved out of the hse but it still kinda his room as all his comics, books and other crap was still in there! I had to make space for my stuff but I did not know what can be thrown and what he wanted to keep.

You would think that if he has not needed any of the stuff in his room for the past 2-3 years that basically everything could be thrown away. However, with my dad around, throwing stuff away is a no no (as u can tell from previous pics).

I stayed in his room for awhile but I knew that I wanted my old room back even though it was half the size of my bro's room. At least I knew what stuff of mine I did not want and asking my dad to move his crap to another spot in the hse was no problem.

It was a long and tedious process. I did it little by little .... there was just so much to be done and too many layers of dust to remove. The things that I decided to keep 6 years ago were now junk! I wondered why I kept them in the first place.

Anyway, I finally got it done today :)

HIP HIP HOORAY!

Here are the after pics.

--- Look familiar? Those dice are from my car too!

---

I rearranged my furniture with help from my sis. Move the bed to the other side of the wall. Those boxes on the floor are all my books, yes, romance books. There are a couple more boxes still in my bro's room. I want to get a BIG bookshelf and place it where all the boxes are now.

That's Ernie hanging from the cord to my ceiling fan :)

---

There's my bed. I have yet to put sheets on them as I want to wash them first. That's my vanity ... the shelf at the bottom is actually seperate.

I think I might have to get another smaller bookshelf and place it beside my vanity. I could not believe how many books I have .... you would not either ;)

Hopefully I will be moved into my room by the end of this week. It is really nice to be in a room where everything is yours. We will still use my bro's room as our entertainment room as the tv, dvd player and xbox is there.

Room Sweet Room :)

Girls Nite Out

Went out with the girls last nite. We went to Makansutra by the Esplanade. I got there the earliest as I have yet to estimate travelling time ... plus I hate being late.
We ate Satay, Carrot Cake, Fried Oysters and Chicken Wings. It was really yummy. After dinner, we heading to do some sight seeing and take some pics.
---

Shanice, Yvonne, Me and LC

After that was desset. We headed to Haagen Daz 4 dessert. Shanice wanted to try their fondue but unfortunately they were sold out. We settle for a selection of ice cream that we all shared.

---

Here's a shot of LC and Me with our ice cream. We had Chocolate, Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Cookies and Cream, Midnight Cookies and Cream (I think they are they same thing), Stawberry, Brandied Cherry, Coffee, Cookies and Cream AND a warm brownie!

I was happy happy happy! :)

I'm an 80s child ...

Remember The Snorks? I remember watching it as a child and I got really excited when my sis was flipping through the channels and I saw it playing. It sure brought me down memory lane ....

WARNING! Useless Star Trek Trivia :)

While I was searching on info on the show, I found out that Odo, a character on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, was a voice in the show! He was Dr. Strangesnork. What a small, small world.
