Turkey at my Bro's

My bro's company received 2 turkey dinners from business associates and they ate one of the dinners at work. However, no one wanted the other so my bro took it home and invited us over for turkey!

Before u guys jump into conclusions, the whole dinner was vacuum sealed and in a box. It was just a matter of reheating everything. Not as exciting as other turkeys I have had the privilege of eating, but it was turkey and it brought back good memories.

Here's the boneless turkey breast .... no drumstick :( .. with long beans and sweet potatoes.

Tube of stuffing anyone? Haha, it might look weird but it was actually quite tasty! I ate most of it.

There was also cranberry sauce and gravy. I had more than 2 thick slices of turkey and we, 5 of us, managed to finished 1/2 that block of turkey!

After the turkey lunch, I hung around my bro's hse while he, a couple of his friends and my sis played with their Guitar Hero World Tour. I can't seemed to coordinate my fingers and brain .... that game is definitely not for me :(

Dinner with Lilian.

Met up with Lilian from Coach on Fri. It has been awhile since we met up and the last time we saw each other, she had just resigned from her job at LV and I had started my job not too long ago. It was definitely time too get together and share a pitcher of ice cold beer.

Originally I was supposed to go to BKK from Fri till Tues but after the chaos in BKK, the trip was cancelled and at the moment there is no word if we would still be going or whether there will be a change in destination.

Anyway, we met up at Vivo as it was more convenient for me .. she ends at 6pm and I end at 7pm (that's if I am lucky) so somewhere near me was the best option. I managed to leave the office and reached Vivo with plenty of time to spare. We immediately headed to our hangout, Hog's Breath ... they have pretty good food and most importantly, BEER!!

She updated me about her new job ... this time there was less bitching about RETAIL! :) Dinner and beer was great .. it was just what I needed as I skipped lunch and was grumpy because I had to work instead of enjoying a massage.

After dinner, we decided to go do a little shopping as it was still early and that was when the nite went downhill ..... within 30mins of shopping, my friend got her wallet pickpocketed!! The mall was packed and we should have been more careful. She was carrying a sling bag and had it placed behind her :( The pickpockets were really quick ... I was beside her the whole time and did not notice anything .... I didn't think I was that drunk .... we shared a pitcher of beer! My level of tolerance is must better than that!

Well, the moment she realized that her wallet was gone, she had to call all her credit card/banks to cancel her cards. She didn't seemed too upset about it .. if it had been me, I would have been super pissed! She lost about $80, a beat up wallet, her identity card and miscellaneous cards.

After reporting her cards stolen, the nite ended ... kinda hard to shop when one of u has no cash. I lent her some cash to get her thru until she could get replacements for her atm cards. Luckily her easylink card was not in her wallet, so she could still take the mrt home. I had an extra card if she didn't have one :)

Looks like we are going to have a meet up again!! Hopefully nothing goes wrong then.

My nephew, Ethan's Bday BBQ

My cousin's kid, Ethan, celebrated his 6th bday on Sat with a BBQ at his place. It has been a long time since I have gone to a BBQ so I was really excited about it.

I have gone to get his present the day before and thanks to LY, I managed to get exactly what he wanted! It is is some new toy that boys seem to be crazy about! I remember standing in Toys R Us and seeing all the little boys around me talk about Bakugan this, Bakugan that ... This was what we got for him, Bakugan Lancher. I also threw in more Bakugan balls.

It was really a kids party! The bday boy is the one in blue. His older sis, Kimberly, is on the left.

My bro, Liu Zheng, Shuan Ying, Me and my sis.

Surprisingly I did not really drink that much .. maybe cos it was straight Cordon Bleu and it was way too strong for me. I had to chase it down with Root Beer ... I know, really weird combination!

The food was really yummy! There were chicken wings, otah, fried rice, beehoon, stingray, sausages, shrimp and satay! I was really stuffed but could have eaten more chicken wings if there were more :P

Can't wait for the next BBQ!!

P.S. Thanks to my cousin Lin Yee for the pics!

Lions' Charter Nite

This is a very late post ... sorry, but it has just been madness this past week. I can be home but still working at 9+pm till 11+pm.

Anyway, last Sun was my boss' Lions Club of Singapore Zenith Charter Night and he invited me to the dinner they were hosting. D would have gone if there had been a vegetarian option, but unfortunately there wasn't.

The event was held at NUS and in the begining I was thinking of following my cousin, Charmaine's train and bus way but in the end I took the lazy way out and hailed a cab .... cost me $16 :P I was dressed up, so it was $$ well spent.

Their flag.

Going on stage to take their oath. My cousin is the one on the far right.

My boss, the president of the the club, taking the gavel.

Some trophy?

Official certificate.

The flag ... hmm... is there another name for it?

All the different countries' flags where Lions roam.

Woohoo ... ceremony is over! Jordan is 3rd from the right.

Dinner was ok, I thought the same meal we had the next day was slightly better than the actual day's food. The reason we had an extra "free" meal was because there were empty tables and they allowed us to come back they next day to consume it as there was no refunds.

I sat with my my cousin's wife, Melissa, their kids and my 姑妈. Drank alot of free flow beer ... prob would have drank more if my 姑妈 wasn't sitting beside me watching me .. haha

Left b4 midnight as we all had to work the next day ... wouldn't it be nice if my boss had told us we could come in later?

Frog Legs @ Chinatown!

Since Ben is back this week, we decided to meet up again on Thur for frog leg porridge at this famous Chinatown coffee shop. We actually wanted to go to the one near my place that Evon had recommended but it was too far for KL.

We also invited Kerine, her bf, my sis and her new bf that all my friends wanted to meet. We tried to get him to join us on Sun but he was too shy :P

Each of us had porridge and we shared pork ribs, fried you tiao and some veggies.

And of cos the star of the nite ... frog legs! We actually had 2 pot, one spicy, one not, however, both pics turn out looking the same so I just posted one :P

After dinner, we headed to nearby coffee bean to sit and chit chat. We would have loved to sit longer but they closed at 10.30pm and so we had to leave :(

Yeah! Group pic! Do I need to name names? U can prob guess who's who :P

It was a fun meetup .....wonder when's the next one going to be ....

Bejing Bound Ben's Back!

Umm .... do I need to explain why I have not been updating much? Fine .... 3 letters ... HKO :)

Anyway, its over for now, so I should be updating more often unless I get pissed off again by dumbass ppl!

So ..... Ben is back for about 2 weeks and so we decided to meet up for dinner. We were planning to go to East Coast but it was too far for KL, plus it was a Sun nite and he had to be up early for sch the next morning. Since he was not joining, we changed location to Serangoon Gardens (it would still be far for him, as he lives in the deserted part of Spore ... ok, I am exaggerating slightly)

Ben came by to pick me up and we made our way to Gardens, wanting to eat at Cafe Cartel. I was dreaming of their BBQ ribs since the afternoon ... however, because of someone we had to change venue ....

This is the "someone" Snowball!

Cafe Cartel does not allow dogs so we had to go to another place that did. Ben, Huiyi, my sis and I waited for a moment b4 Evon joined us but she then said the food here was not good :( We were thinking of changing venues once again but because we did not know where would definitely allow pets, we decided to just stick with where we were at. Its the company, not the food ....

It was surprising that the food was not horrible, I mean, it was not great but I have definitely had worse :)

Fried Baby Squid

Dory Fish with Salad

Chicken with Veggies

Battered Fish with Fries

Umm, some other chicken with Veggies .... its with some pasta cream sauce, not bad.

Waffle with Ice Cream and Banana

Chocolate with Lychee

Brownie with Ice Cream. The brownie was moist and chocolaty

The only thing bad was it was pretty exp. With dessert and drinks, each of us had to pay almost $30 AND they do not serve ice water! "We have mineral water u can pay for ..." Oh well .....

We did not stay out that late as most of us had to work the next day. We are planning another meet up on Thurs, one that KL can make it to :P

Happy Birthday Christine!

Wow, I have really been neglecting this blog. Unfortunately there hasn't been really anything I want to blog about for the past week or so. I'm sick of bitching/whining/complaining, its just so much more fun posting on my Little Twin Stars blog ... a place where I can hide and forget try to forget everything.

Anyway ..... on Sat, I met up with Christine, TY, Adela, KL and Huiyi. It was Christine's bday on Sun so we just went out to have a good meal We had "mala" steamboat @ Tanglin Shopping center.

Did not take much pics. They basically came and dumped everything inside to cook. Think they are just trying to rush everyone thru their meal.

I ate way too much and even when I was so full that my tummy hurt ... but I still managed to finish my dessert :)

Adela is so cute. She only grumbled during dinner because she wanted her diaper changed.

KL was supposed to leave right after dinner but he cancelled plans without informing us, so Christine and TY already made plans after dinner on their own. It was just the 3 of us again ... KL, Huiyi and I that made our way to Starbucks for some coffee. It was more chit chat b4 we called it a nite and we made our way home ... all b4 12 midnight :)
