My flight into Paris got delayed because of strong head winds so by they time we reached Paris, I only had 45mins to clear customs and rush to my next flight to Nice. It caused my connecting flight to be delayed by another 20mins. But pretty soon, we were on our way ... Got a window seat from Paris to Nice. Had to seat aisle earlier ... Sad cup of coffee that they served. This was B4 I drank any! The food from Singapore and Paris was not bad. Just a croissant.... My room ... The bathroom. I did not realized there was a shower area seperated until I stepped into the bathtub. They have a seperate room for the pot :P The bag that the airline gave me for misplacing my luggage. The view outside my room .. there is door that can be opened inwards, but there is no balcony. Ok, when I saw this on the map, I was thinking escalators.... looks the same :P Nope, its just good old stairs! Look what I found :D I think its the name of someone's hse. Check them out! Some were pretty nice ... "WOW" is an understatement. View of Monaco from the Harbor. The famous hairpin turn of the Monaco F1 circuit! I was real excited to see it .. notice that the "red and white thing" .. haha, I know there is a proper word for it buts is 2+am, I'm to lazy to google. The opera hse. The famous Monte Carlo Casino. This one is real small, hardly anyone playing. A better view of it with the beautiful lawn infront of it. Just a Ferrari *drools* .... there are so many fancy cars! The beautiful fountains .... Me :P
We reached Nice and when we landed, the stewardess announced on the PA asking a "Ms Loo" to pls let her be known when exiting the plane. Hmm, could it be me? Did they butcher my name? Unfortunately, yes :( I was told that my luggage did not make it on the plane!
Went to the counter to fill up some paperwork and then found my taxi which my company sent for me. I make it to the hotel but was then told that my room was not ready. Sigh .... sat down for about 30mins in the lobby b4 I was given my key.
After taking a quick shower, I pondered over the maps, deciding what I wanted to do and also waiting for a colleague to call me. He finally called at about 12+ only yo tell me he had a meeting with a car dealer (he's getting a BMW R6) and would only be able to meet me at 7pm. He asked me to take a nap first ...
WTH? Nap? No way, I was in Monaco, I wanted to see the sights! So off I went, map in hand.
There are a shitload of stairs, some steeper then others....
I walked and walked and b4 long, found my way to the harbor where all the fancy yachts were at.
It was then more walking and misturns b4 I found what I was looking for ....
After all the walking, I was quite tired and could feel my calf starting to cram up. I finally found my way back to the hotel @ 4+pm. Tried to watch a little tv but the only english channels were news.
So I took a nap :P
I was woken up by Anastasios at about 6.45pm, telling me he would be at my hotel at 7.30pm to bring me out for dinner. Crap, my luggage was still not here!! I called the front desk and thank god it had arrived. Why they did not call my room? I do not know.
We went to a nice Japanese restaurant for dinner with his wife and 2 kids. They don't speak English very well, so he had to translate for them alot. And when they rambled off in French, I just sat there and smiled :)
Dinner was yummy but very expensive.... I so glad I did not have to pay for it. I would have prob just order 1 sushi and thats it :P The whole bill, if I saw correctly was about Eur370 for us 5 *GASP*
It was then a short walk back to the hotel and goodnite.
I then got a prepaid internet access card for Eur10. It gives me 24hrs continuous usage, it was either that or 2hrs stop and go. No way was 2 hrs enough for me :P So here I am updating when I should be sleeping but I need to fully utilize the 24hrs.
Wondering if I should wake up early for the breakfast that is included in the room.... maybe I can be like my mom and sneak food out for days that I am not given a treat :P
Tomorrow is another day .... will try to post if I can get back in time b4 my 24hrs are up. Hahahhaha....
