Lunch @ Tian Jin

We had at first planned on going to the buffet lunch @ Tian Jin last Fri but unfortunately, Ash wasn't feeling well that day so we decided to do it on Mon instead.

My family have actually eaten @ Tian Jin some time ago and it wasn't that nice, however, it seems that they have recent changed their menus and chefs and so they decided to try it out again.

Typical Dim Sum dishes and also 小笼包! Not bad.

They pushed a whole herbal chicken which really filled us. My dad was complaining that they should not have served a whole chicken even if it was small.

My mom was the only one that ate the crab. I really like the pork but it was a tad too sweet. Would have eaten more but was already stuffed.

Dessert of Mango pudding, Herbal Jelly and Red Bean with Ginko Nuts.

We had the Mango Sago which had something weird in it and we tried the hardest to figure out what it was. It wasn't a fruit and it definitely wasn't sago (that is what they tried to explain to us) It had a funny texture like tau pok .. it was just weird.

We were at first given 3 free Hi Tea vouchers to come back but because of the comment that we made about the Sago, we were given another voucher (Haha, Ash has become auntie expert already)

Overall the food was not too bad and the service was pretty good ... no grouchy waiters/waitresses :P

Guess we will be making our way back soon as the vouchers only last for 1 mth.

After lunch, my parents headed home and my sis had sch. I went to watch a movie with Ash as she had to meet my bro @ 7pm and didn't want to go home and come out again. We watched The Ugly Truth which was not too bad.

After the show, we headed down to TPY where Ash had to get something and then headed back to Orchard Road for coffee. By that time, my sis had already ended class so she joined us at Starbucks @ ION. My sis needed to meet her friend to pass her something and so we left with Ash to meet my bro.

My bro and Ash had a preview to catch and he was already waiting at the cinema when we arrived. My sis and I just wanted to say hello b4 heading off but when my bro and his friend saw us, she offered him extra tics to the preview for us too! Way cool!

So we ended up watch the movie Surrogates, starring Bruce Willis, with them. I thought the show was pretty interesting, its like a real life RPG as u can be anyone u want and hide behind a facade. My sis, however, hated it ....

After the movie, we went to pass the stuff to Gwen and then the four of us headed home.

No Doubt @ F1Rocks!

This year, in conjunction with the F1 in Singapore, they decided to also have a concert series during the season. It would be the first F1Rocks and there were a few well know artists that were headlining the concert. When I heard about it, I immediately wanted to go but then when the tic prices came out, I realized that I did not want to spend so much $$ on a concert. Moreover, even though I love the the performers, I knew that because they would be sharing the stage with other, we would not really be getting a full concert.

So, I decided to go to my source for everything cool and free ... haha, that would be my bro. Its great to have someone close in the entertainment industry ;) Well, I told him that I wanted to the 3rd day tics as there would be Beyonce and Black Eye Peas performing. My bro tried to get me to find out who was the organizers so that he might be able to approach them but when I figured out who it was, he said he doesn't know them and thus I thought my chances were blown :(

However, a few week ago, I got a text from my bro saying that he managed to get tic to the 2nd nite show! Haha, yes, I would have preferred the 3rd nite show but on the 2nd nite there was going to be No Doubt performing!

As a beggar, I can't be a chooser :D

Haha, of cos I was excited about it! It was not too long ago that No Doubt got back together to tour and it was pretty exciting that they would be making their way here to Singapore.

The concert started @ 1830hrs but the gates would open @ 1700hrs. It was a free standing concert (which is another exciting part) and so my sis and I decided to head down early to grab the best spot.

We went for dinner @ Ajisen first as No Doubt was the last act and was scheduled to perform @ 2300hrs.

We got to Fort Canning @ about 5+ and there was surprisingly not many ppl there. We can to walk one big round to get to the entrance.

There were a handful of ppl there which was good news for us. We were at the second row, right behind the ppl at the barricade.

While waiting, I decided I could use a beer ... haha, too tempting when almost everyone around us were drinking too.

Ok, someone pls tell me why it is "I am AN F1Rocks fan" Am I missing something here? Pls tell me we (as in SINGAPORE) didn't make a HUGE grammar error on an international level. Sigh ...

Beer was finished pretty fast, nothing worse than warm beer. They got the DJs from 98.7FM to host ... Muttons something?

4 acts tonite and I only knew 2 of them, Simple Minds (not that well) and No Doubt, which was the highlight of the nite!

First was N.E.R.D. They were pretty fun and tried to get the crowd revved up.

The first act was about 45mins and then there was a 30mins intermission while they changed set for the next act.

Next up was Simple Minds, the one famous song is Don't You Forget About Me. The lead singer kept saying "Is everyone ok?" which got a little irritating after awhile. Not much interaction with the audience expect to ask us to clap .... all the time :P

Surprise appearance of Lindsay Lohan. She is hosting the show that would be broadcast to 183 countries. It was earlier supposed to be Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls but she pulled out at last min.

Guess they couldn't afford anyone else. I guess Lindsay also happened to be in town with her gf Samantha who was DJing the F1 VIP area.

Lindsay's sis was also supposed to be there but was too shy to come out and make an appearance. All Lindsay did was read off some lines at the teleprompter .. her back was faced towards us 99% of the time. She did come out later but from where we were standing, we could not really see her and/or take a good pic of her.

We read later that she was complaining about wanting some privacy and about ppl taking her pics. Not sure if she was talking about F1Rocks but WTF, she should be glad that there was ppl that still want to take her pics. When was her last hit show? Geeze.

Next up was ZZ Top. Ok, sad to say I have no idea who they were but the crowd sure knew them, especially this one guy that was right infront of me who even had a ZZ Top t-shirt.

I got a tad bored during the ZZ Top performance but I knew the best was yet to come.

After a couple false countdowns, No Doubt finally came on stage @ about 2315hrs.

They were all in white theme outfits and Gwen Stafani looked HOT for a mother of TWO!

Spiderweb

Simple Kind Of Life

Check out her 6pack abs ... drool ... yes, I'm drooling even though she is a girl.

Running

She took out her jacket pretty soon after and was perspiring throughout. Notice her pink bra here?

Don't Speak

Just A Girl. Scroll to 2:45 when she comes down the stage. The crowd behind us rushed to the front and I think I managed to grab her hand. It was chaotic!

She changed to a green bra later on as the other got pretty drenched in sweat. They came out for a one song encore which really pleased the crowd.

The concert ended at about 0030hrs and by that time, my feet were hurting for standing for more than 6hrs. It was a slow walk to the nearest MRT station which was running late bcos of the F1.

My sis and I really enjoyed ourselves. No Doubt put on a really great show and it was worth the wait.

Thanks again to my Bro! Lovies :)

My Mom's precious car.

My mom has a four children and her forth baby is the car. Seriously, the car is her precious bb. She washes it almost everyday and gets worried when it goes out without her and comes home late. She makes sure it is always fed and would yell at u if u don't do the same.

Which is why I seldom borrow the car, my mom's nervousness over the car makes me even MORE paranoid when I am driving.

Anyway, my dad uses the car pretty often in the morning (it is paid for by HIS $). He would sent me and my sis out to the MRT station, go pick up newspapers, roam the estates b4 trash collectors come by so that he can pick out the "good" stuff"

Well, on Mon, I suddenly hear my mom screaming and I was wondering what the hell happened. My mom was on the ground floor and my dad was upstairs on the 3rd.

I went down to find out what happened and my mom showed me.

Oops, the dent is between the 2 car doors on the passenger side.

My mom was really upset and was yelling at my dad, she told me "... that is why I don't like yr father to drive the car, he never takes care of it ..."

I just find it a little funny as it is after all my dad's car.

This is not the first time my dad has damaged the car and it will prob not be the last. I just think that it is a minor dent, no need to kick up a big fuss over it. My dad said that he went to check and it would cost about SGD2-300 to fix it. Not sure whether that is the truth, but even if its not, my mom throws away more money at her slot machines that even if it costs twice or 3 times that estimate, she has any right to complain.

That's just me :P

Sunday @ my Bro's

My brother just got the new Beatles Rockband game and so we went over to his house on Sunday to play. I usually just sing as I am horrible with hand eye coordination :P

The game was fun but after singing a song once or twice, it gets a little boring. There were a lot more popular songs that were not included in the game which my bro said u have to purchase separately if u wanted them.

Ash did the beehoon, apple crumble and 酸辣湯 (Sour Spicy Soup). My bro made buffalo wings!

Ash wanted to make 酸辣湯 like the ones that sold in chinese restaurants in the US but it did not turn out the way she hoped it would. I, for one, don't remember ever ordering 酸辣湯 there so I can't really compare. But I thought her version was very yummy! Just need a little more spice :)

The buffalo wings that my bro made brought back memories of college days ... wings and beer. We were talking how we should all go to Sunset Grill and order their spiciest wings! Hahaha, might permanently kill my taste buds buds but it still excites me thinking about it.

After dinner, we watched 2 crappy movies, Prom Night and Over Her Dead Body. Prom Night is supposed to be a horror movie but it was not at all scary. There was no gore and u knew who was the killer RIGHT FROM THE START! As for the other movie, it stared Eva Longoria but I think her role was tiny compared to the other female role which was supposed to be a supporting role.

By the time we got home, it was after midnight. Fun day! (even with the crappy movies)

Movies in the park.

Class 95 FM organized a movies in the park event on Sat. They showed 2 movies and most importantly, it was FREE! Haha.

Ben and HY went to an IT show at Suntec and so my sis and I met Shanice, KL and Evon at Raffles City shopping centre. We had no interest in squeezing the the mob at the IT fair.

While at the Starbucks there, we order pizza ... it was kinda weird telling the person that we wanted the delivery to a Starbucks :P

After the pizza arrived and getting some snacks, we made the short walk to Fort Canning Park.

OMG, it was so crowded! Well, it is free :P Luckily Ben and HY got there earlier and had already reserved an area for all of us.

The two movies were Iron Man and Transformers II.

My Sis and I

The gang that went.

Our dinner! Pizza!

It was a pretty cooling night even though there was a huge crowd there.

Since I had not seen either of the 2 movies, it was very worth it for me. I thought both movies were not too bad. The graphics for Transformers were cool .... should have hired the same team to do wolverine's claws in X-Men :P

After the movies ended, it was after midnight. We then headed to Mr Bean for drinks and a small bite.

Yup, the beer is mine :P

My Sis and I.

My New Toy!!!!

Haha, my bro had a deal that was too good to pass! I was thinking that I did not need another camera as the one my sis and I shared was still working pretty well. Who knew we would each need the camera soon after :P Oh well, that is over and now we each have our own cameras, no need to fight anymore.

Well because I did pass on it at first, by the time I told my bro I wanted it, I had to be placed on a "waiting list" :( But luckily I was able to get it!! My bro went to purchase it on Tues and I had my mom go over to his hse the same nite to collect it. Yes, I am that impatient!

Woohoo! My new Sony T90!

The inside of the box.

It's very slim with a touchscreen.

I got my bro to get me a memory card too. The (fugly) camera case is free.

The texts between me and my bro while he was at the store : -

Bro - 8gb mem stick at 50. You want?

Me - How much is the 4gb one? Don't think I need that big one leh.

Bro - 4gb is no discount. 40

Me - Aiyoh! Ok..8 then. Thanks :)

Bro - Haha.

Simpliest decision ever ... for $10 more I got double the size, who cares why do I need 8gb for? Hmm... maybe a few videos? ;)

I wasn't able to play with it on Tues as I had to charge the battery but the next morning I immediately inserted the battery and was checking it out. Can't wait to put it to good use. Now I need a cute camera case, the one that was given just ain't cutting it.

Love my new camera! Thanks Bro ... better text me yr bank a/c asap or pretty soon I will saying "Thanks for my early bday present!" Wahahaha ;)
