Went back to the old hse with my mom on Tues and I can't say I was surprised to see the condition of the hse. Here are some pics that I took ..

---

This used to be the living room.

---

The kitchen.

---

The stairs ... at least there is room to go up and down them.

---
My old room.

---

I guess the pics say it all ... there is really nothing more to add ... is there? Well, my mom got a gardener to come clear the front and the back, to chop down the mango tree and get rid of all the overgrowth. The trash IN the hse? ... well, my dad is coming back on 12 Apr, he will prob deal with it then.

So, the company that makes Ribena (a blackcurrant syrup) has been fined for misleading consumers into thinking that the product has vitamin C ... which it doesn't. Read this.

WHAT?!?!

You mean to tell me that the Vodka Ribena I love doesn't give me my vitamin C?!?!

There goes my "It's like drinking fruit juice" excuse :)

I'm off 2 days in a row again! Well, don't have anything planned these 2 days though ... which is probably good as I have been going out way too much and spending way too much money too. Will be getting paid this Wed but it would not include the comission. We get this mth's commission the following mth. So I guess I will have to wait another mth to get my full pay.

Anyway, in case u guys did not know already, I have stalker tendencies. I love googling ppl :) and trying to find out more abt ppl by all ways and means. Unfortunately, most of the times I am so good at what I do that I find out things that I wish I didn't. However, I don't think that would deter me from future sleuthing ..... guess I will never learn ...

The other thing that has been going on is that ppl have been complaining about how messy and untidy our other hse is .. aka, my dad's junkyard. An inspector went to the hse with my mom and took some pics, he told her that he can show where it says in the law that u can't store trash in the hse ... which is basically what is inside the hse. Nope, I have not gone into the place since I've been back. I am a little afraid.

I don't know what is going to happen but my dad won't be back until 15 Apr and first things first is that they want the lawn mowed. It looks like one of us is going to have to do it. The problem is trying to figure out where the lawnmower is ..... My dad is going to stall the inspector until he get home.

I really don't know what to do ... I can foresee a huge quarrel between my mom and dad .... I am quite positive that my dad suffer from Compulsive Hoarding Syndrome. However, don't even mention it as my dad will get really pissed! He does not have a problem, get it?

Met up with Huiyi, KL, Christine and TY for dinner again. We went to this really famous coffee shop at AMK for crabs. KL and TY were there early to get a seat and order, so by the time we gals got there, the food was already on the table ...

Sorry, no pics, we were too hungry and I forgot :)

After dinner, we made our way to Thompson for some dessert and then to Thompson Plaza just for some window shopping. We then made our way back to Christine and TY's for a short mahjong session .....and cos we were all thirsty!

I have not played mahjong in so long and I had fun ... in the end I broke even. Christine and TY, the mahjong experts :), both won and poor huiyi, the beginner, lost :(

This morning, my sis and I decided to go to the HSBC Tree Top Walk at McRitchie Reservior. I had heard about it from my friends and had wanted to try it out. Since I was off today, we went ... plus, I was feeling guilty about all the dinners I have been going out on and the one that I will be going for again tonite .... CRABS!! :)

Anyway, back to the walk .... we took a bus there and we started the walk at 9.20am

---

It was a 5km walk just to reach the Tree Top walk!

---

Singapore's famous McRitchie Reservior ... were all students have gone to do their cross crountry.

---
We took the yellow route, however, with the detour for the Tree Top walk, it was actually more than 11km. Click here for a larger map.

---

Canoeing at the reservior.

---
Official start of the trail ....

---

0km ... start walking ....

---

Finally reaching the entrance of it.

---

Some facts about it. Only 30 ppl are allowed on the bridge at one time and there is a guard (who was dozing off when we were there) at the start of the 1 way bridge.

Moi!

It took us 3hrs 40mins to finish the walk. It was a great workout. Some parts were harder as the ground was uneven and rocky. There was also one part where we had to climb a flight of stairs. Even with the canopy overhead most of the time, I still managed to get a slight sunburn on my shoulder. I told the Huiyi, TY, Christine and KL about it and now they want to go do it ... looks like I might be going back sooner than later :)

Went out to celebrate Huiyi's bday again yesterday. We actually went out on Fri but Thur was for the ones that could not make it on Fri. Me? :) I wanted to tag along .....

In the begining, we were going to go have Korean at a foodcourt which was supposedly really good, but Christine wanted to go some place nicer for Huiyi's bday so we decided to go to this Jap restaurant called Sun With Moon at Wheelock Place. The prices were a little on the high side but I guess we were paying for the ambiance which is top notch. Very cosy.

---

Rainbow Roll.

---

In the front is Salmon Cheese Spring Roll and in the back is some Crab, Spinach and Mushroom thingy.

---

Cheesy Chicken Broccoli Curry.

---

Our main course. They deliver it with a timer and tell u that u can only open the lid after the timer is over.

---

This was what was under the lid, I had the eel with clams. It came with really yummy rice that I ate lots of. Yes, I ate carbs!

---

This was Teck Yong's .... some seafood one?

---

Christine's. She had the beef.

---

Huiyi's. She had the pork.

---
KL was the only one who had pork with noodles. Yes, there were noodles under all that.

After dinner, we made our way across the street where we sat down and enjoyed a cup of coffee and the 5 of us shared a slice of brownie and a slice of cheesecake.

Serena + Chocolate = Happy :)

Off again today, really nice to have 2 off days in a row and I will also be off again on Sat. So this week I have 3 days off ... well, but earlier in the mth I had a week where I only had 1 off day.

Was talking to a friend online yesterday whom I have not met up with in a long time and found out that she is going to get married at the end of this mth. Sigh, another one of friends are getting married ... the singles ones are getting less and less. And even those that are not married, most of them have a bf/gf. Sometimes I can't help but feel alone.

At work, one is married and having a kid, the rest have bfs and/or are engaged. Even the one who is gay has a bf.

It's not just the fact that I miss having a bf, but since coming back to Spore, I have had to accustom myself back to S'pore's culture. I get a hug once in a blue moon as compared to in the US where hugs are given often. Ok, I am not asking all my friends to suddenly hug me all the time. I know that it is not a common gesture here but it feels good to have a hug every now and then.

From hugs, let's move to kisses ... haha, I know what u guys are thinking. But I'm not talking about kisses between a man and a women (or to the same sex if u are gay) I'm talking about kisses that I get from friends, like Rosa, Mary, Gary, Joel, etc. Friendly kisses .... either on the cheek or on the mouth .... yes, the mouth. When I got my first friendly kiss on the mouth from Gary (Jeff's brother-in-law with 5 kids) I felt awkward but I came to realize that it was just a friendly gesture and I have come to welcome it everytime I met up with him.

My dad is one that doesn't physical displays of affection. I remember the time when I was leaving for the US and I tried to give him a hug, he stood there like a block of wood as I hugged him. I guess that is just the way with him.

Here's a

Got my name tag :)

Finally received my name tag yesterday .... so pretty. However, because of where we are supposed to place our name tag, mine can hardly be seen as it is covered by my hair.

Worked a full shift today, was there to open the doors AND close the doors. Tomorrow I will be working the afternoon shift and then I will get tues and wed off. Thur I will be meeting up with some friends for dinner after work. Quite excited about it, going to eat korean food. I miss the korean food back in E. Lansing. I wonder whether it will be the same here .. or whether the korean food I have been eating is korean at all!

First things first ... I finally got my computer repaired. Talk about procrastinating :) I eventually decided to get it looked at and when I brought it to a place across the street to where I lived and lugged it all the way to the 3rd story, the lazt told me that they were not taking in anymore repairs as the person doing it is swamped. I asked her if I wasn't in too much of a hurry, how long would it take ... 2 weeks she said. TWO WEEKS?!?! After I have decided that its time for my comp to be fixed, I don't want to wait 2 weeks.

I left the place and found another place but I was only able to bring it in on Fri, my off day. This time, afraid that they were going to tell me no again, I went up to the store (3rd story again) to check before bringing the computer in. They said that they would take 1-2 days. My eyes practically lit up :)

So after dropping of the comp, I met up with Elsie. We were supposed to meet later that nite to celebrate huiyi's bday but as I was off, we met up and did some shopping. We then ended up at Modesto's at Elizabeth Hotel again ... after a whole lot of confusion as I thought Orchard Parade Hotel was Elizabeth ....

We had so much to eat, it was a wonder that we actually finished all the food! We order 2 plates of pasta and 2 regular pizzas which we finished and we still had room to share 2 desserts ... yeah, there were only the FOUR of us.

After dinner, we made our way to Hereen where we want to sit and have some coffee. Unfortunately, ben had to leave and it just ended with us gals ..... KL joined us later for awhile after he got done with his rehearsal.

At about 12+ in the morn, GX came to pick Elsie up and was going to sit for awhile but he was unable to find parking so we ended up going to another place for beancurd ... yes, eat again! KL did not join us as he had to go home.

By the time I got home, thanks to GX :), it was past 2am .... I had to be at work at 9.15am!

Went to work .... saw bottles of wine and CHAMPANGE!!!:) But I don't think we will be able to drink while on the job ... sigh.

Anyway, I was involved in a meeting with my mgr and the other seniors. What I thought was going to be short meeting turned out to be almost 4hrs. Unfortunately, I had made plans with my sis and told her to come meet me for lunch. There was no way I could have picked up my phone when she called or reply her messages. In the end, she had to wait for abt 1 1/2 hrs b4 I was done. I knew she was going to be upset but when I saw her and she was crying, I really did not know what to do.

First of all, I did not know that the meeting was going to be so god damn long. Second of all, what was I supposed to do, tell my boss "Sorry, I need to answer this, my sis is calling me"

After apologizing profusely, she still seemed upset and was still tearing even though she said she wasn't mad at me.

Everything seem fine after awhile and we hung out for the rest of my break. However......

All's well that DOESN"T ends well .... I make the fatal mistake of mentioning the whole incident to my mom and my mom in turn said to my sis "Why u cry so easily?" Which prompted my sis to approach me and asked "U told mommy ah? Why must u tell her?"

So she is now pissed at me.....

ARGH!

I know that my sis is very emotional, but it just seems like everyone has to walk on eggshells around her so as not to hurt her feelings and upset her .....

Please come .....

Event: Launching of Coach's spring collection, the Ergo.
When: 14 March 2007 (Wed)
Where: Coach Raffles City ... Singapore :)
Time: 7-9pm

Actual presentation would be at 8pm, but if u come early there will be free cocktails. Not sure what kind or whether they will be alcoholic .... and there might be food too :)

I'm hoping that it would not be a bomb like the last event we had when hardly anyone showed up even after they RSVP saying they would. Heard that there was a lot of champange ;) and food left .....

Have had to call ppl to RSVP for an event that we are having at the store this wed and I have to say it has been a bitch. Most of them have not received the invite and I have to waste time explaining what the event is for. And the typical S'porean question is "Got sale or not?" And S'poreans don't understand the concept of RSVP ... well, I think alot don't. If an invite says rsvp, u are supposed to respond to it whether it is a yes or no. Waste my time and saliva.

I wonder how many ppl will actually show up that day .... So far I have had 80+ yes but god knows we should be thankful if even half of them shows up.

Will be going out with my friends this fri, it is Huiyi's bday and we are planning to go to Modesto's to celebrate. Unfortunately Evon and KL won't be able to make it as they are busy with their charity event show.

Today's my sis bday and we will be going out to eat later .. having dim sum. Sigh, will be have 2 big meals this week ... Groan.

Talking about food, my collegues at work are giving me grief about what I eat cos I eat the same thing everyday ... bean sprouts, green beans and beef redang with rice. Well, the reason I chose it is because I get my 2 veggies that are not very fattening and some meat. I usually only eat a little of the rice as carbs are evil! However, ppl always tend to be curious about what I eat and they would be like "Huh? Same thing again?" Well, I don't want to go for noodles as they usually don't have much veggie, that means I have to eat more noodles (CARBS!) to be relatively full. Plus, there is lots of MSG in the soup! Don't go to the chinese store as their sauces are sweet and their meat are coated with flour and fried (usually). I enjoy my beef redang ... can they just leave me alone!

Moreover, when I have my usual, I still lose weight and am not hungry but yesterday when I changed it to wonton mee (just so ppl will not think I am weird) I DID NOT lose weight .... ARGH!

Thursday, March 8, 2007

Sigh, now that I am working I really don't have time to update my blog as often :( And it doesn't help that I have been working closing shifts for the past few days. By the time I come home, I am tired and would just take a shower and head to bed.

Work has been kinda fun. Getting to know all the ppl there better, but still I feel like the odd one out. Maybe it is just me who always feel like I don't fit in. I finally got the key to the store and the access code ... I really feel impt now :) The work really isn't too hard but then I am just starting, there is going to be alot of paperwork that I have to do eventually. My boss is currently busy with the airport store that opened yesterday so she hasn't been in the store much. She will prob be back these few days.

We are planning an event at the store next week to introuduced our new spring collection and I was given the task of calling ppl to RSVP. Well, the made a stupid mistake of putting a fax number on the invitation .... Have been learning the closing procedures and will be doing one ALONE sometime during mid Mar .... I hope I don't forget anything ...
