Car Shopping!

No, not for me ... it was for Ben. Well, I had actually planned on spending a lazy afternoon at home doing absolutely nothing but when I was online chatting with Ben, he asked whether I could bring him go test drive some cars since his rental was in the shop. I was bored, it sounded like fun, plus after all the times Ben has been driving us ard, it was the least I could do.

I borrowed the car from my mom, not telling her where I was going and then drove down to YCK MRT to pick Ben up. Haha, would have love to have gone to Yishun to pick him but I don't know the roads that well here so he spared me the grief by coming down to meet me :)

And of cos the first thing I told said to him when I saw him ....

You drive!

Haha, hate driving when there is another person in the car that knows how to drive too. Also, I had no idea where we were going and it would be a pain havin to take directions on every single turn! Guess that comes from the fact that my mom is a horrible backseat driver. Never had the problem in the US, but then I know the roads there and ppl there are more friendly on the roads.

We made our way to the car dealership .. first stop, Toyota! He test drove the Toyota Vios. Not too bad a car, I called it cute cos it had seemed like a real compact car .. short back and front. The one thing I really loved abt the interior was that the middle portion of the floor was flat. I know, its stupid but it nice to be able to sit in the middle and not open yr legs or have yr knees to yr chin.

Next stop, Hyundai Avante. Sigh, why did have to be a Korean car? The car was really quiet and it had really cool blue interior lights on the dashboard. The interior was slightly more roomy but I felt it looked cheap ... and it had the bump in the middle. Did I mention it was a KOREAN car? :)

Next stop was Mitsubishi Lancer EX. It was prob the best looking one of all, very sporty, love the all black interior, but it was noisy! And Ben said that it did not have much power, plus it was the most expensive one of the lot. So it went off his list ....

Wanted to test drive the Suzuki SX4 but there wasn't a dealership in that area, plus we ran out of time. Each car took about an hr with all the talking to the salesperson and calculating interest and stuff.

It was fun, I told Ben the next time we should test drive cars we cannot afford! More fun! Anyway, I dropped him back at YCK b4 heading back home, had to return the car by 7pm. Was a little late but I went to pick up my bro and ash, so my mom did not bitch.

Hmm, so now it is all up to Ben, whether he wants to commit to a car and which one .... Haha, I already told him that I better be one of the first ones to sit his car if he gets it! :)

Met up with my friend TJ at Vivocity. We had tried to meet earlier in the mth but she had to go to China on a business trip and I had very few weekends to spare. Well, problem solved now ... she is back from China and I am free .. in more ways than one.

Was supposed to meet at at 6.30pm but she was late so I did a little window shopping b4 she arrived. We headed to Hog's Breath Cafe located on the 3rd level. It's located at a corner so if one didn't go looking for it, they would prob miss it. My sis was actually the one who told me about it.

We both had the prime rib ... sure brings back memories of catering .... it was not too back, my only complain was that our appetiser came 5 seconds before our entrees! We did not have time to even savour our calamari b4 our food came!

Would still go back again, according to my sis, their set lunch is really worth it and on tues, they have lady's nite where some stuff on the menu are 50% off!

I had fun catching up with TJ abt what's going on. I'm trying to convince her to invite 我们 to her place so that we can see her home and also her hubby! Heehee, according to the gang, no one has seen him b4 .... can't wait :)

My last 2 days at work was somewhat of a pain. The bitch decided that she did not want to say a word to me and I had nothing to say to her either ... well, I did, but chose not too .. haha. However, the annoying thing was that on the second last day then, just as I went into work, she told her PA to change the email password. WTF? I was still working .... I understand that they had to change it but couldn't it wait till AFTER I leave? It was at that point that I decided that I was not going to work anymore during that 48hrs. I told my colleagues up front, if they need my help, let me know and I will help THEM, but other than that, I was going to stand around and do nothing.

The last day dragged on, I kept looking at my watch, counting down the mins. It is sad leaving most of my friends and some might say that I am a little spoilt, but seriously, I wasn't happy, I don't see the need staying and prolonging my unhappiness. I start to wonder what they are talking about me now that I am gone .. yes, I am curious, but on the other hand, u can't help what ppl say. It's time to move on .....

I don't know what I want to do now ... the dark cloud is knocking at my door .... I don't want it in but it is getting stronger, the pounding is deafening ... it's scaring me ... can someone drive it away? ... pls?

I Quit!

No, I'm not kidding, I did quit. Wed will be my last day. I just could not stand working for that BITCH anymore! Why should I continue working for someone who tells me straight to my face "you don't do anything .... u are an expensive sales associate ... sales is not your thing..." I do not go to work to get insulted and lectured to like I am a kid. It's worse than going to school! I can't deal with her 360 days PMS.

There is no way I can ever can on her good side as she likes ppl to kiss her ass and she loves the ones that will go to her with all sort of info. Unfortunately, the ones that she trusts are the ones that are the backstabbers! They tell her their version of the story which benefits them. If she says I am expensive, then what about that little ass kisser of hers? Just because they were from the same company she gets a nice fat increment when confirmed. FUCK lor, the thick foundation on her face is probably a layer of SHIT from all the ASS KISSING she has been doing! Thank god I have friends there that stood up for me.

I have to say that I am a little dissapointed with the brand. I still love my bags but I have seen how the quality of their products have dropped. I hate trying to explain to customers why a brand new bag would have a defective part or start to fall apart after only a few mths use. I hate telling customers that repairs would take TWO MONTHS .. if we need to get a replacement part, it would take SIX MONTHS or MORE. WTF, the customer thinks it is unreasonable, I think it is unreasonable.

Moreover, they come up with new designs so often that everything get old pretty soon. In the US, that means it's off to the factory outlets. I wish everyone would go to the US to get their bags. Why buy here when u can save 30% or more when u purchase it from the US? However, let me warn u, the quality is a luck of the draw .... so far I have been quite fortunate ... well, except for one top handle pouch of mine, but it was a cheap buy, I wrote it off ... if anything happens to yr bag ... u have to pay for repair and it would take forever!

I want to upgrade ... will still carry my current bags, but aiming for a Fendi, Chloe, Balenciaga, Bottega ... ooh.. I want an Hermes! Haha, looks like I have to start searching for a new job .... hmm, at the moment, I will return to my role as Singapore Idler.

Things to do .... get a pedicure! My feet has gotten a beating within this 6 mths. I never want to wear court shoes and stand for 8hrs. Get some sleep ... no more 8.30am morning lectures that are not paid, I end up working a full shift and am tired like crap. Go for my spa weekend getaway ... guys, I can go anytime now!

I miss my Krispy Kreme ... the green one in the middle is Green Tea flavored ... something u would only find in asian countries I guess.

Nope, there isn't a Krispy Kreme here :( Currently there is this stupid craze in Singapore for doughnuts. There is a doughnut place over where I work where ppl would queue for 3hrs, YES, THREE HOURS just for doughnuts. U should see the damn line. I've tried it once and I have to say it did not compare to Krispy Kreme at all. Their doughnuts was pretty dense, not light and fluffy. No, I did not queue for them, a friend gave me one.

I miss my grape jelly filled doughnut from the QD and the free warm doughnut while waiting in line at Krispy Kreme .....

Was supposed to meet up with my ex boss, Mike, and friend, Rowena but Mike got the dates mixed up and so he could not meet. We were actually supposed to meet last wed on my off day but I cancelled as I was trying to be a good employee and help out but u guys know how it went. The next available date for us to meet is next wed as Rowena is going to HK over the weekend. I was telling Rowena how it feels like we might never get to meet.

Anyway, cos there wasn't a need to wake up, I got up, went to pee and then headed back to bed. Was woken every now and then with msgs on my phone ... replied, and went back to bed continuously. You guys would not believe what time I finally dragged my ass out of bed. Please bear in mind that I have been working for 12 days straight ....

I woke up at 5pm!

Haha, I know, such a pig. I forgot what time I went to bed but I think I got about 12-14hrs of sleep :)

I met up with my friend Ryd from my SI days on Mon nite. It was also a rescheduled appointment. Was supposed to meet last tues but he thought it was Wed instead. Sigh .. what is it with ppl mistaking appointments with me? Am I that forgettable? Well, met him at Suntec and we went for dinner and after which coffee at Starbucks. It was nice catching up and learning what some of the ppl we knew were up to. But I have to say that at times it felt like I did not know what to say. I have to say that I am not the world best conversationlist .... think I am pretty boring at times ... which could prob explain why I am single and alone ...

Anyway, pretty excited about going to see the musical The King and I on Sat with Huiyi and KL. After which, we will be meeting the usual gang for dinner at Sushi Tei over at Vivocity.

Gave up an off day for NOTHING!

Well, I was supposed to be off today but I got guilted into coming back to help the midnight sales. However, because not all the merchants decide to participate in it, the mall did not advertised it, which means no one knew abt it, therefore the crowd was non existent.

So now, I will be working 12 days b4 my next off day ... GROAN!

And to top off a dissapointing night, my friend received her confirmation ... the catch, she did not get a single cent increment .... none, zip, nada! Our boss told her that she is not doing a good job and there are things that she should work on. WTF?! If she is doing such a bad job, why confirm her in the first place. The only reason, we feel, she confirmed her is so that she would have to work out her 1 mth notice if she decides to leave.

Oh, forgot to mention the Employee Satisfaction Survey we had to do today. It was a joke .... "The company cares abt me .... Strongly Disagree", "I am able to share my thoughts and ideas with my superiors ... Strongly Disagree", "Company provides fun activities ... Strongly Disagree"

I am not satisfied with the company ... STRONGLY AGREE!!!

Checked my phone when I got off from work to find messages from KL and Huiyi. Huiyi thought I already knew plans for tonite but I guess KL forgot to inform me. It turns out that Christine wanted to surprise August aka TY for his 30th bday. They were going to have out separate dinners and then "bump" into each other later.

So we went to Makansutra at the Esplanade first. OMG, there were so many ppl .. talk about claustrophobic! We finally found a place to sit and as I guarded our table, they went to order oyster omelette, char kway teow, carrot cake, chicken wings and for dessert, chendol, ice kachang and don't know what KL had for dessert.

We then headed into the Esplanade waiting for Christine and TY to walk over from Marina Square. TY was really shocked to see us and he actually believed that it was a coincidence until we brought out the cake that we bought for him. It was then that he realized that Christine had this all planned out and we were in cahoots with her :)

We then headed back to the Starbucks at Marina Square.

Frustrating Mom!

It's so frustrating when it comes to my mom, she can be so fucking calculative when it comes to $. My phone is under my dad's name as he is able to get a discount for the plan, saving me about $10 a mth. Anyway, since it also includes my sis's phone, he has it auto paid every mth thru his bank account and I then pay my mom back every mth. (My mom handles all the money at home, my dad is the generous one ... well, most of the time)

Well, today was the day that I finally transfer the money back to my mom, making her double check her account as I was doing it. After which, I gave her a Post-It stating the breakdown of the money for this mth. It was then she said,

"Your phone bill amt is before GST..." (GST is our Goods and Service Tax)

I looked at her and was a little dumbfounded .... first of all, I honestly did not realized that I have been paying her without the GST, second of all, my phone bill this mth (and on the average) is $36, 7% GST is fucking $2.52!!!

She is bugging me about

$2.52?!?!?!

This was the same person that did not realize that $3140 was not in her account!!

THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!!

ARGH!!!

I looked at her and said a little innocently

"What? You mean u are not going to absorb GST?" and just continued walking ....

So fucking annoyed ... and now that I think about it, I ALWAYS round up to the nearest $5 when I transfer $ to my mom, I think that should cover it.

But rest assured, next mth I will calculate the FUCKING GST into my bill.
