I met up with LC on Fri for lunch in Little India where we went to Muthu's Curry. It is pretty fancy place that serves Indian cuisine at a pretty expensive price. The food was not too bad but I thought that the service could use a little improving. We had to wait a long time (even after we reminded them) for the mutton curry to arrive (thus it wasn't pictured) and they took forever to get my water and never came by to refill it until I asked them ....

After lunch, we went walking around Little India but it was a really bad idea as it was Deepavali the next day and there were many ppl there.

For dinner, we went to Teahouse at China Square where Shanice and Yiqiang treated us (Huiyi, Yvonne, LC and me) to a scrumptous buffet dinner that included shark's fin, dim sum, scallops, shrimp, salmon, dessert .... It was so good and we all ate so much.

After dinner, we made our way to Clark Quay. It has changed alot since I left and now it has become this really nice area with pubs, restaurants and cafes. We headed to Coffee Club where we had our 2nd round of dessert and caught up more with our gossip :) We managed to ask GX to join us after he got out of work and Yvonne's bf WT also joined us.

Survivor!!!

One of the show that I thought I would not have to miss is Survivor as I found out from my sis that S'pore has been showing it simultaneously as the US. However, this latest season, because of the whole race thing that they threw into the game, S'pore officials thought that it would be too sensitive for the audience here.

WTF?!?!

Anyway, it seems that after realizing that it was still drawing viewers in the US despite the race issue, they decide to finally bring it here. Of cos, now it means that we would be at least 5 or 6 episodes behind. I have to resist going to the CBS website to find out who has been kicked off the island.

ARGH!!!

It is going to be shown at bloody 11pm on Fri (starting Oct 27), as are all the other good shows from the US. Primetime here is for stupid local television that have bad acting and even worse scripts.

My bro gave us his free preview tics to The Prestige starring Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. Hugh is super hot. One thing annoying about the show was that Christian spoke in this weird accent that was a little hard to comprehend .... I really had to listen to understand what he was talking about.

The show was not too bad, however, about 1 1/2 hr into the movie, I checked my watch and wondered when it was going to end. I was pissed at myself for not figuring out the twist .... I should have known better ... my brother would have prob spotted it.

Still it wasn't that bad, I think I enjoyed it better than The Departed (go watch the original Hong Kong version Infernal Affairs .... I think it is so much better) But hey, they are free tics, so I guess I should not be bitching that much .... lol

Dinner with the family ....

Went out with the family tonite to celebrate my dad's and bro's bday. After much deliberation, we finally decide on Spring Court Restaurant located in Chinatown. The restaurant has moved several times and supposedly my dad has eaten at all of these locations except the one that we went to tonite.

We ordered quite a few dishes, I wanted to take more pics but my family were looking at me weird .... haha, so I just stopped at 2.

---Peking Duck. They first skin the duck, u wrap the skin in a small crepe with cucumber, some other green veggie that I forgotten the name of and a special sauce. After that, they would bring the duck back to the kitchen, chop it up and serve it again. Chinese have weird eating habits.

A nice dinner with the family and sure enough some arguement had to arise. My bro msg me earlier and asked whether I would pay for dinner and I said I would since him and his wife were going to give my dad an ang pow (a red packet with money in it) When the bill came, my bro first paid with his credit card (as I don't have one) and I was going to pay him back later. However, my mom saw my bro giving me the receipt and I made the mistake of telling her her the reason was that I was paying the bill .....

Now my dad asked my mom to give me the money for it, that I should not be paying for it because I am not working .... My mom said that last year, they gave my dad an ang pow AND paid for dinner, so why must I pay for the full bill? 50% would have been reasonable. Why is it so hard to be a good person? Why can't I pay for it? It was only about S$170, it is really not that much. If my bro and I agreed on it, what is the problem?

And the last time I checked, it was also my brother's bday, can't I do something nice for him too? I did not get him a gift as he is a hard person to shop for ... I have no idea what toys he has and what he likes, plus he told me I didn't have to. So why can't this be my gift to him?

I'm BACK!!!!

This is my first update from home! YIPPEE!! Thank you, thank you.... :)

The guy finally came to install it this morning and at first he had some trouble getting it to connect .... I started to sweat.. and pray. Finally, there was sign of hope .... a page finally loaded! I got down on my knees and thanked the lord ... haha, u all should know that i am not the religious type, but when it comes to the internet ..... I will pray to any God

Now I would be able to update my blog more regularly .... I miss her alot :) And I miss chatting on MSN ... I am doing that now while I am updating. I am a multi-tasker!

I have been sick the past few days ... it started with a scratchy throat and it escalated to a sore throat, then it became a cough and now my nose is congested too. I have been coughing so much that my chest hurts. I can't remember the last time I got sick ... sigh, I hate being sick :(

Tonite we are going out for dinner 'cos it is my dad and bro's birthday on 17 Oct. We have not decided where we are going as my family can never make up their mind.... The fave word to use here is "随便", meaning "anything".

Well, maybe I will take some pics tonite and post them ..... just because I can!!!!! :)

wonder who else is stil checking my blog. I know that I have not been updating my blog in a long time but unfortunately I still don't have net access at home. I know ... same story, u guys are prob bored to hear it.

I have not been doing much ... laying at home, playing the xbox which I pretty much suck at. If I can't get pass a level, I would ask my sis to help me ... she is the expert :)

I have started clearing my room so that I can move into it .. I am currently in my bro's room as he has moved out a few years ago. My room is in a mess ... my dad has been using it as a store room and there was seriously an inch of dust everywhere.

Cleared out my closet, got rid of all my old clothes .. my sis had a good laugh at what I used to wear ..... I could not believe my taste in clothes back then too!

The most exciting thing that happened was my friend Shanice just got married this Thur (Oct 5). Unfortunately she was pretty sick that day but she still managed to make it through the ceremony

Sorry for not updating my blog in so long but when there is no internet connection at home, this is what u get. I know ... how are my parents and sis able to live without internet? I have no idea. I'm now at my bro (i kinda invited myself over) so that I can check my email and update my blog.

I WILL be getting internet at home pretty soon, so once again, please be patient.

Have not been doing much these past week ... shopping, getting used to the place again ..... all I can say is GROAN!! I hate to be whinning but I can't help it.

I finally got my cell phone so anyone who wants to call me? It is 65-9185-4877 .... anyone? I'm waiting for my phone to ring! Or u can SMS me :) It is real popular over here and it took me some time to get used to it. I'm still not as fast as my sis when it comes to typing msgs on the phone but I think that I am faster on the keyboard.

I got a really cool phone .. it is a Nokia N73 ... it has a 3.2 mp camera ... so I can take more pics and post on my blog! But that will all have to wait until I have internet set up at home. Kinda feel bad hiding out using the computer at my bro's place ... feel kinda rude.

Ok, first things first ..... Liz, do u regconize this lighter? It was yours and now it is in my hands .... in S'pore. I don't know how I got it through security but I did. I had it in my coat pocket and it actually went through the xray machine 3 times! And no one said anything! What dumb ppl there are working at airport secuirity ....... Isn't it supposed to be better now? Wonder what else has gone through it .....

The weather here is HORRIBLE! I am sweating constantly! It will prob take a while for my body to get used to the heat :( My house is in a mess as I told u guys, here are some pics to prove it. My dad just can't seem to throw anything away. This is only part of the house .....

I could not believe that the house is in such a mess but there is nothing I can do about it.... my dad refuses to let my mom throw anything away, however, I think my mom has the same prob too .... even I will admit that I have some of my dad's hoarding genes (my whole bro and sis do too) but nothing as bad as his.

I don't know what to do ...... I have no where to put my stuff :(
