My dad had to work late and my mom had her usual date with the "one arm bandit", so my sis and I went out to eat on our own. I wanted to try this new place that just open near our hse. It replaced a bun store which was there for some time but it closed down a few days AFTER we first went to try it. So this time, I told my sis that we have to go there and promote it so that it would not close down. And even if it did, we would have eaten there a few times (that is if it is any good)

There were 2 occupied tables when we got there, it was after lunch, so it was a good sign. It is a really small place with minimal hoopla. The lady showed us to our seats, gave us the menu and then just stood there! Awkward .... my sis talked to me in English, wondering if she understood us at all. In the end, we decided on the following dishes to try out.

---

Shrimp Dumplings with Noodles and Pot Stickers. The dumplings were pretty good, noodles a bit overdone. I did not really like these type of pot stickers that were deep fried, preferred pan fried ones.

---

Siew Mai. These tasted better than they looked. The sad part was that not everyone had shrimp in them. Good nevertheless ...

---

Pork Ribs ... not too bad, tender enough that we did not have to fight with it. Nice spicy kick to it.

Overall, we were quite satisfied with the food and have decided that we would go back and try some of the other stuff. Service was good, other than the fact that she stood by us while we were looking at the menu. We did not want drinks but she served us water and were diligent in refilling them. We felt bad that a grandma was slowly making her way to our table to refill our cups and when she was a step away, we told her we did not need it. Guess we should have told her before she invested her energy into walking towards us.

The place is located at a pretty bad location. Well, there is a china sch further down, so the students pass by this shop when they go to sch. Heard from the lady that they were pretty busy during lunch. People from the estates would also prob come to know of the place but because it is not along the main road, it will have a hard time, I think.

Well, hopefully it will still be open the next time we decide to made our way there....
