Popeyes!

Found out recently there are Popeyes here in Spore. However, they are both located at the AIRPORT! Remember my first and only trip to Popeyes in the US. Liz was the one that brought me and I loved their biscuits! Went to their website to look at their menu and suddenly had cravings for their Cajun rice, biscuits, mashed potatoes and chicken ....

I told my bro about it and he too wanted to go. So we, us siblings and Ash, went on Sat. We decided to go to the newly opened one at T3 (Terminal 3) but I guess maybe we should have gone to the more established one instead. However, we were interested in looking at the new T3.

Oh... it sure brought back memories, remember driving down to the ghetto side of Lansing .. haha. Fun times, right Liz?

It was a long wait at the line, turns out we were not the only Sporeans that had cravings for chicken too. We pondered at the menu while waiting and I was drooling at the pic of the Cajun rice. Unfortunately they do not have Jambalaya which was featured on the website. They do not have Mac and Cheese either ... sob :(

We finally got to the counter and was told after we ordered that they ran out of biscuits. They went to the other terminal to get it and it would take some time. We were also told that there was no Cajun rice, no red bean and rice and not DIET coke! ARGH! Everything that I wanted wasn't available! We decided to wait for the biscuits instead of taking their offer of replacing it for another side.

My sis taking her artistic shot .... but then forgot ... oops, I mean "accidentally deleted" shots of the mashed potatoes that was really yummy. The gravy was a special Cajun gravy with spices and the mashed potatoes did not taste fake. Coleslaw was also not bad, yup, no pic either.

---

Cajun Fries. Yummy but would have been even better if they were just fried. Reminds me of Owen's seasoned fries.

---

Popcorn shrimp. This is the measly portion of 9 shrimp. We could have gotten almost 3 pieces of chicken for the price we paid. And because it wasn't popular, it had been sitting under the heat lamp for awhile and wasn't really crispy.

---

Chicken strips. These were good, but also fried way before hand. Ash enjoyed them alot and she said that she would order these again instead of the pieces of chicken.,

---

Chicken!! The chicken were really good! Spicy and crispy. Ash said that they tasted more like chicken than those at KFC which just bland.

We had to wait about 45 mins after we ordered to get our biscuits. Turns out that it comes unmixed and they had to mix it up and baked them for 11mins. They were worth the wait! I absolutely love them and had 2 while everyone else had one. Plus, they were hot out of the oven which made them taste so much better. They might not be as good as the ones in the US but they were definitely good enough. I only wish they had honey and/or butter but they only had strawberry jam. Whatever, I ate the second one neat! Heehee :)

The trip had it ups and downs ... service was slow, did not offer some of the things that I wanted, did not have stk of the items that was on the menu, ran out of biscuits, etc. Even with all the hiccups, we all decided that we would go back to Popeyes again. As my brother said, its a new outlet, there would be teething problems. However, the next time, we will go to the one at T1.

Chicken, anyone? :)
